Suryavanshi made his debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024 during a match between Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, breaking a 24-year-old record previously held by Ali Akbar.
Playing for Bihar, Suryavanshi, aged 13 years and 269 days, surpassed Akbar’s record of 14 years and 51 days set in the 1999-2000 season. While his debut match was brief – he scored four runs off two balls before being dismissed – the achievement itself is remarkable.
Suryavanshi’s meteoric rise continues. He was previously the youngest player ever sold at the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, purchased by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.1 crore.
