**Bengaluru, India** – A warrant for the arrest of former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa has been issued over allegations of Provident Fund (PF) fraud. Uthappa, a director at Centaurus Lifestyle Brand Private Limited, a private clothing company in Bengaluru, is accused of embezzling PF contributions belonging to several employees.

According to the complaint, ₹2,336,620 were deducted from employees’ salaries as PF contributions but were not deposited into their accounts. Following a complaint, PF Regional Commissioner Shadakshari Gopal Reddy wrote to the Pulakeshinagar police on December 4th, initiating an investigation. Police visited Uthappa’s residence to issue a notice but found he was not present at the address. Consequently, an arrest warrant was issued.

Police have given Uthappa until December 27th to pay the outstanding PF dues; failure to do so will result in his arrest. Reports suggest Uthappa’s family currently resides in Dubai.

Uthappa played for the Indian national team from 2006 to 2015, featuring in 46 ODIs and 13 T20s. He also had a successful career in the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing from 2008 to 2022. This arrest warrant marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the alleged PF fraud.
