Sun Dec 22 07:02:36 UTC 2024: ## Former Indian Cricketer Robin Uthappa Denies PF Fraud Allegations, Claims Victim of Company Defrauding

**Bengaluru, India (Dec 22, 2024):** Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa has vehemently denied allegations of fraud related to non-payment of provident fund (PF) dues for employees of three companies. A warrant for his arrest was issued by the Bengaluru Regional PF Commissioner on Saturday, December 21st, following accusations that Uthappa, listed as a director of Strawberry Lanceria Private Limited, Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Private Limited, and Berries Fashion House, failed to deposit approximately ₹23.36 lakh in PF funds.

Uthappa, in a statement released today, clarified that he was only a director on paper after providing loans to these companies in 2018-19 and had no active role in their daily operations. He asserted he never participated in the companies’ day-to-day management and was himself defrauded when the companies failed to repay his loans. He further stated that he resigned from his directorship some time ago.

Uthappa’s legal team has submitted all relevant documents to the PF authorities to demonstrate his lack of involvement in the alleged non-payment. Despite this, the arrest warrant remains in effect. Uthappa now considers himself a victim and stated that his legal team will take all necessary steps to clear his name. He maintains his innocence and will pursue legal action against the companies for the outstanding loan repayments.
