**Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh:** The Andhra Pradesh government has issued a legal notice to renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, accusing him of fraudulently obtaining ₹1.14 crore from the Andhra Pradesh State Fibernet Limited (APSFEL). The notice alleges that Varma, along with former APSFEL Assistant General Manager Uyyuru Gunashakankar Reddy, MD Maddirala Madhusudhan Reddy, and Ravi Shankar Varma (a partner in RGV’s RGV Group), used false invoices and fabricated documents to defraud the state-owned company.
The notice demands that Varma and the other named individuals repay the ₹1.14 crore within 15 days, along with a 12% interest penalty. Failure to comply within the stipulated timeframe will result in an additional 18% interest penalty. The government has also warned that it will recover the funds through civil and other means if necessary. The legal notice was served by lawyer Eedara Nageswara Rao on behalf of APSFEL MD K. Dinesh Kumar.
