Sun Dec 22 00:10:00 UTC 2024: ## AP FiberNet Revival Promised Amidst Operator Concerns
**Guntur, December 20, 2024** – GV Reddy, Chairman of AP FiberNet, has pledged to revive the financially struggling network and address the concerns of cable operators. Addressing a meeting of cable operators in Guntur on Friday, Reddy acknowledged the network’s dire state, citing a debt of ₹1262 crore. He blamed the YSRCP government’s five-year tenure for the network’s downfall, alleging mismanagement, arbitrary appointments, and even the misappropriation of ₹2.15 crore for the film “Rangasthalam.” A vigilance inquiry into alleged corruption within AP FiberNet is currently underway, Reddy confirmed. He assured operators that future decisions, including appointments, will be transparent.
Operators raised several key issues, including a shortage of set-top boxes, frequent service interruptions, the need for a service center in Guntur, and the continued collection of ₹59 rental for outdated boxes. They also requested the revocation of the pole tax GO. Reddy assured the operators that he would address these concerns promptly. He emphasized his commitment to restoring AP FiberNet to its former glory, bringing the triple-play service (internet, cable TV, and phone) back to its full potential using modern technology, as initially envisioned under the previous Chandrababu Naidu government.
