Sat Dec 21 19:28:02 UTC 2024: ## New Awards Celebrate Rajasthani-Tamil Collaboration in Tamil Nadu
**Chennai, December 22, 2024** – The Rajasthani Association Tamilnadu launched the Rajasthani-Tamil Seva Awards on Saturday, recognizing exceptional contributions to Tamil Nadu’s development. The awards, carrying a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh, a trophy, and a citation, will be given annually starting March 2025. Categories include agriculture, public service, education, healthcare, environment, entrepreneurship, social welfare, and media.
Madras High Court Justice C. Saravanan inaugurated the event, praising the awards as a symbol of unity between the Rajasthani and Tamil communities. He highlighted their role in inspiring further service and progress in the state.
A distinguished jury, chaired by S. Gurumurthy of Tughlaq magazine, selected the recipients. The jury included prominent figures such as E. Balagurusamy (former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University), N. Ravi (former Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu), N. Sugalchand Jain (founder, Bhagwan Mahaveer Awards), and Padma Subrahmanyam (Bharatanatyam scholar).
Shantilal Jain, MD and CEO of Indian Bank, commended the initiative for recognizing impactful contributions to the lives of Tamil Nadu’s people. Praveen Kumar Tatia (Association President) and Narendra Srisrimal (Awards Committee Chairman) also addressed the gathering.
