Sun Dec 22 00:01:39 UTC 2024: ## Jaipur Gas Tanker Explosion Kills 14, Leaves Dozens Injured

**Jaipur, Rajasthan, India** – The death toll from a gas tanker explosion in Jaipur, Rajasthan has risen to 14, authorities confirmed Saturday. Over 30 others remain hospitalized with injuries sustained in the incident which occurred near the National Bearings Company Limited on Ring Road.

The tragedy has been further compounded by reports that a victim, identified as Radheshyam Chaudhary, a motor mechanic, was seen running for help engulfed in flames for approximately 600 meters after the blast. A viral video shows Chaudhary struggling to stand, screaming for assistance amidst the chaos. Despite his desperate pleas, eyewitnesses primarily filmed the scene instead of offering aid.

Chaudhary’s brother, Akheram, recounted the horrific events to The Times of India. He was awakened at 5:50 AM by a stranger who informed him of his brother’s plight. Rushing to the scene, Akheram found his brother severely burned and lying on the road, having reportedly made his way 600 meters from the explosion site. Akheram stated that instead of helping, bystanders focused on recording videos. Unable to wait for an ambulance due to traffic congestion, he and neighbors transported Chaudhary to the hospital in their car. Despite his 85% burn injuries, Chaudhary remained conscious and coherent. He ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The incident has sparked outrage over the lack of immediate assistance provided to victims. Sachin Pilot, a prominent politician, has expressed concern over the Jaipur CNG truck blast and demanded action from the government. Investigations into the cause of the explosion are underway.
