Sun Dec 22 00:01:37 UTC 2024: ## Indian Batsman Smashes Record with 35-Ball Century in List-A Cricket

**Chandigarh, India** – Anmolpreet Singh, a 26-year-old Indian batsman, has rewritten the record books, smashing a breathtaking century off just 35 balls in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match. His incredible innings against Arunachal Pradesh set a new national record for the fastest List-A century by an Indian batsman.

Playing for Punjab in Group C of the tournament, Singh’s explosive knock included 12 fours and 9 sixes, culminating in an unbeaten 115 runs from only 45 deliveries. This blistering performance propelled Punjab to a comfortable victory, chasing down a 165-run target in just 12.5 overs with the loss of only one wicket. Punjab’s final score was 167/1. Singh’s partnership with Prabhsimran Singh (35*) added an unbeaten 153 runs for the second wicket after the early dismissal of captain Abhishek Sharma (10). Earlier, Arunachal Pradesh was bowled out for 164, with Ashwani Kumar and Mayank Markande taking three wickets each for Punjab.

Singh’s feat eclipsed the previous Indian record held by Yusuf Pathan, who scored a List-A century off 40 balls in 2009-10. He also surpassed the mark set by West Indies legend Brian Lara, who achieved a 45-ball century in 1999. Globally, Singh’s innings ranks third fastest in List-A cricket, behind only Jake-Fraser McGurk’s 29-ball century and AB de Villiers’ 31-ball century.

Despite previously playing in the IPL for Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Singh went unsold in the recent IPL 2025 mega auction. His stunning performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, however, is sure to attract renewed attention from IPL franchises.
