Sat Dec 21 07:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Hip-Hop’s Quiet Week Before the Holiday Rush: Gunna, Mozzy, and More Deliver New Sounds

**NEW YORK, NY (December 20, 2024)** – While SZA’s *SOS Deluxe: Lana* dominates the charts, the hip-hop world enjoyed a relatively quiet week leading up to the holiday season. However, several notable artists still dropped new music, offering a diverse range of sounds and styles.

Atlanta rapper Gunna released “Got Damn,” a reflective single looking back on his recent successes. IDK also unveiled the introspective track, “Flow.” Sacramento’s Mozzy continued his collaborative streak, this time teaming up with Compton’s Kalan.FrFr for an unexpected yet successful pairing; Kalan.FrFr’s smoother style providing a counterpoint to Mozzy’s harder edge.

Other releases included Saaheem’s deluxe edition of his November album, providing fans more opportunities to explore his sound; a seven-track EP, *Hidden in Plain Sight*, from Detroit’s Conway the Machine featuring collaborations with Styles P; Larry June’s latest flex-heavy track; and Ric Wilson’s funky new single blending Chic and DJ Quik influences. Louisiana rapper, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, also dropped “On Sight,” a fun track aimed at energizing his existing fanbase.

The week also saw some intriguing collaborations, including Grizzley and an unnamed artist on “Diana,” and Nudy and Pi’erre Bourne on “Gotta Salute” from *Sli’merre 2*. These releases offer a taste of what’s to come in 2025, suggesting a promising year for hip-hop.
