**Bengaluru, India:** Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa is facing an arrest warrant for allegedly misappropriating approximately ₹23 lakh (approximately $278,000 USD) in provident fund (PF) contributions. Uthappa, a director of Centaurus Lifestyle Brand Private Limited in Bengaluru, is accused of deducting PF contributions from employee salaries but failing to deposit them into the employees’ PF accounts.
The Provident Fund Regional Commissioner issued notices to Uthappa, but he was not found at his residence in Pulakeshinagar on December 4th when officials attempted to serve them. Consequently, a warrant for his arrest was issued, giving him until December 27th to settle the outstanding dues or face arrest.
Uthappa, who played 59 international matches for India, reportedly resides in Dubai with his family. The matter is currently under investigation.
