Fri Dec 20 20:56:00 UTC 2024: ## IIMB Director, Seven Professors Accused of Caste Discrimination
**Bengaluru, December 21, 2024** – The Bengaluru City Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the Director of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), Rishikesha T. Krishnan, and seven other professors under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The FIR stems from a complaint filed by Associate Professor Gopal Das, who alleges caste-based discrimination and atrocities.
Das, 40, an Associate Professor of Marketing at IIMB, claims the discrimination began after his caste identity was revealed by the IIMB Dean (Faculty).
A senior police official confirmed the FIR, registered by the Mico Layout Police on Friday. However, the official noted that IIMB has approached the Karnataka High Court, resulting in an order issued on Friday, the contents of which are yet to be made public. The police stated that further action will be taken after reviewing the High Court order.
