Sat Dec 21 10:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Slams BRS Leaders in Assembly Debate
**Hyderabad, December 21, 2024:** Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders during a heated Assembly session today. His tirade stemmed from the recent Lagacherla incident, where he accused BRS leaders of obstructing development projects in Kodangal constituency.
Reddy accused the BRS of hindering development by opposing the establishment of companies, job creation initiatives, and medical education opportunities in Kodangal. He stated that he intended to provide job opportunities to those educated in Kodangal and that establishing a pharma city near Muchcherla, close to an international airport, was a positive development initiative. He further alleged that BRS leaders resorted to violence, including attacks on officials, to prevent land acquisition for these projects. He vehemently criticized what he called the BRS’s support for “thieves” and their obstruction of progress.
Reddy also criticized the BRS government’s handling of state finances, alleging that they had accumulated massive debts, forcing the state to take on further loans to pay interest. He contrasted the BRS’s alleged mismanagement with the comparatively smaller debt incurred by the Congress during its tenure, highlighting the lack of development projects despite the enormous debt. He specifically mentioned the poor condition of girls’ hostels, citing a lack of basic amenities. He further accused the BRS of manipulating financial figures to conceal the extent of the state’s debt.
The Chief Minister also addressed other issues, including comments made about Allu Arjun and criticism of the BRS government’s handling of Nalgonda district’s fluoride contamination. He also alluded to a potential conflict between the state and central governments, stating his commitment to securing Telangana’s interests. Reddy’s speech was marked by intense emotion and strong accusations against the BRS party and its leaders.
