Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh – The YSR Congress Party (YCP) has accused the ruling TDP government in Andhra Pradesh of authoritarianism, citing the denial of permission for their planned service activities in Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s constituency, Kuppam. The activities were planned to coincide with former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s birthday on the 21st of this month.
Police authorities in Kuppam reportedly denied permission for the YCP’s “Seva” (service) programs, citing the upcoming visit of the Chief Minister’s wife, Bhuvaneswari. YCP leaders have expressed outrage at what they perceive as a politically motivated move, claiming it is an act of vengeance against their party. They allege that the government is targeting the YCP in Kuppam specifically. The YCP maintains that the denial of permission is a blatant example of the state government’s increasingly autocratic rule.
