**Jaipur, India** – The death toll from Friday’s LPG tanker explosion in Jaipur has risen to 14, with two more victims succumbing to their injuries on Saturday. The devastating accident, which occurred on Ajmer Road near Delhi Public School, initially claimed the lives of five people at the scene. Nine others died later at Sawai Man Singh Hospital, where 27 injured individuals remain hospitalized, seven of whom are on ventilators. Approximately 25 individuals sustained burns covering up to 75% of their bodies.

The accident occurred when a Bharat Petroleum tanker, traveling from Ajmer to Jaipur, collided with a truck while attempting a U-turn. The impact ruptured five nozzles on the tanker, releasing 18 tons of LPG gas, resulting in a massive explosion. A second LPG tanker, located approximately 200 meters away, miraculously avoided ignition.

Authorities are still struggling to identify five of the bodies recovered. At least one body was received in severely fragmented condition. The government has announced compensation of ₹7 lakh from the Prime Minister’s and Chief Minister’s relief funds to the affected families.
