**TRINCOMALEE, SRI LANKA** – The Sri Lankan Navy rescued 102 Rohingya refugees, including 25 children, from a distressed fishing trawler adrift in the Indian Ocean, officials announced Friday. The refugees, fleeing violence in Myanmar, were found near Mullivaikkal on Sri Lanka’s northern coast Thursday morning by local fishermen.
The refugees were brought to the eastern port of Trincomalee, where they are undergoing medical checks before being allowed to disembark.
