**Erode, Tamil Nadu, December 20, 2024** – Modakkurichi MLA C. Saraswathi has submitted a petition to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin outlining ten crucial demands for her constituency and Erode district. Key requests include the establishment of a modern cancer center at the Government Erode Medical College and Hospital in Perundurai to address the high prevalence of cancer in the region, and the construction of an ESI hospital to cater to the large worker population.
The MLA also pressed for the reclamation of encroached land in Erode city for road development, the construction of rail overbridges, and measures to prevent industrial effluent discharge into the Cauvery river and Kalingarayan canal. Further demands specific to her constituency involve subsidies for turmeric seeds with high curcumin content, the development of a curcumin extraction industry, and infrastructure improvements such as bridge construction, road widening, and the renovation of public facilities. The petition also called for the naming of the new Solar bus stand after former MLA M.A. Eswaran.
