**TIRUNELVELI, Tamil Nadu –** A man was murdered in broad daylight near the Tirunelveli district court complex on Friday, December 20, 2024. According to police sources, Mayandi was attacked by a gang of four men wielding sickles. The assailants, who arrived in a car, ambushed Mayandi as he arrived for a court hearing. They killed him at the scene and escaped.

Quick-thinking onlookers apprehended one of the suspects, who has been handed over to police. Mayandi’s body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem. A murder investigation is underway. Police remain deployed at the court complex.
