**East Sussex –** Actress [Name], known for her role in the upcoming ITVx series “Culprits,” recently opened up about her colourful past, from her days as a karaoke hostess in Waterloo to her current life in the East Sussex countryside.
In a recent interview, she reminisced about her time working in a Waterloo pub near the Old Vic theatre. “The landlord was a bit of a gangster,” she revealed, recalling her Friday and Saturday night karaoke sets, where Celine Dion ballads were a particular favourite. She also confessed to a past run-in with the law, being pulled over on Christmas Eve for “driving like a drunk person,” despite being sober.
Her London life spanned various neighbourhoods, from a damp basement flat in West Kensington to Brixton, before settling in Battersea for 15 years, a period she described as drastically changed since her departure. While she now enjoys the peace of the countryside, she still considers London a “holiday destination,” favouring stays at the Ham Yard Hotel, Kettners, or, for special occasions, Claridges.
When asked about ideal first date locations, she suggested a walk in Wimbledon Common followed by a cosy pub visit, highlighting the “Hand in Hand” as a personal favourite. Her favourite London haunts include Liberty, Daunt Books, and various shops in Covent Garden. She also revealed a memorable meal at The Ledbury, coinciding with her engagement.
Beyond her acting career, the actress shared her love for art, citing John Singer Sargent’s “Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose” as an inspiration for her own burgeoning portrait painting hobby. She also collects rocks and minerals from her travels, calling them a “notable” collection. Furthering her fondness for arts and entertainment, she highlighted her enjoyment of Jesse Ware’s podcast “Table Manners.”
The actress’s role in “Culprits,” where she plays a “baddie,” is a departure from her usual roles. She expressed her admiration for director Andrea Arnold and actors such as Kate Winslet.
“Culprits” streams on ITVx from December 19.
