**Gurugram, Haryana –** Former Haryana Chief Minister and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) supremo Om Prakash Chautala passed away at his Gurugram residence today at the age of 89. According to a party spokesperson, Mr. Chautala suffered a cardiac arrest and despite being rushed to a hospital, could not be revived.

A prominent figure in Haryana politics, Mr. Chautala served as the state’s Chief Minister five times. His political career spanned decades, beginning with his first term as CM in December 1989 as a member of the Janata Dal. He later led the INLD, holding the CM position for two consecutive terms from 1999 to 2005. The son of former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal, Mr. Chautala leaves behind his sons Abhay Singh Chautala and Ajay Singh Chautala, and his grandson, former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala.
