**Jaipur, Rajasthan –** At least 11 people were killed and over 40 injured, with 28 in critical condition, in a massive fire that engulfed several vehicles near a petrol pump on Ajmer Road in Jaipur early this morning. The blaze erupted around 5:30 am following a truck collision.

A CNG tanker parked near the petrol pump was the initial point of ignition after a truck, reportedly carrying chemicals, collided with other vehicles. The resulting explosion was reportedly heard up to 10 kilometers away, with multiple secondary explosions from bursting fuel tanks. The intense fire spread rapidly, consuming vehicles within a 300-meter radius. Witnesses described a large plume of black smoke visible for kilometers.

Rescue operations are underway, with victims being transported to hospitals. The number of trucks involved remains unclear, but many were completely destroyed. The fire is now under control, according to officials.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, announcing compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. President Droupadi Murmu and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also offered condolences and visited the injured in the hospital. Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with the Chief Minister to assess the situation. The Chief Minister has directed doctors to provide immediate medical care to the injured. A preliminary investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
