**Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, December 19, 2024** – A fatal accident at an Adani Group-owned Penna Cement factory in Yadiki mandal has claimed the life of one worker and injured five others. The incident occurred Wednesday night.

The injured workers were immediately transported to a local private hospital in Anantapur. District officials, including the Collector and Superintendent of Police, visited the hospital to assess the situation and offer support to the victims and their families. The Collector has ordered the transfer of the injured to a corporate hospital in Bengaluru for advanced medical care.

A District Industrial Safety Committee, comprising representatives from various departments including Factories, Labour, Industries, Fire, and Pollution Control Board, has been dispatched to the factory to investigate the cause of the accident and prepare a detailed report. The General Manager of the Industries Department, Mr. Sridhar, stated that the District Collector will also inspect the factory site. Following the completion of the investigation, appropriate action will be taken against those responsible.
