**New Delhi, India –** Kia India today unveiled its third SUV, the Syros, aiming to carve a niche between its popular Sonet and Seltos models. This marks Kia’s fifth vehicle launch in India, following the Sonet, Seltos, Carnival MPV, and EV6 electric vehicle.

The Syros boasts a distinctive design inspired by the EV9 electric SUV, featuring vertical LED daytime running lamps, projector headlamps, and a high roofline for improved headroom. Inside, a modern, clean interior is highlighted by a 30-inch “Trinity Panoramic Display Panel” incorporating a touchscreen infotainment system, HVAC controls, and a digital instrument cluster. First-in-segment features include streamline door handles and ventilated seats for both the first and second rows. Kia emphasizes the Syros’ focus on space, comfort, a smooth ride, sporty performance, safety (including Level 2 ADAS), and seamless connectivity.

Powertrain options include a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine (118 bhp, 172 Nm) with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine (113 bhp, 250 Nm) paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. While currently petrol and diesel variants are offered, Kia confirmed exploration of hybrid options for the future.

The Syros comes equipped with premium features like a Harmon Kardon sound system, a wireless charger, and Kia Connect features including OTA updates and call center-assisted navigation. Built on the reinforced K1 platform, safety is paramount, with Level 2 ADAS including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Blind View Monitor, and Smart Cruise Control.

Kia officials dispelled concerns about cannibalization of Sonet or Seltos sales, emphasizing the Syros’ unique positioning and design appeal to a distinct customer base. Production takes place at Kia’s Anantapur plant, with an expected price range between ₹10 lakh and ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia aims to further strengthen its position in the competitive Indian SUV market with this latest offering.
