**Sylhet, Bangladesh** – The National Cricket League T20 tournament exploded onto the scene Wednesday with a day of high-scoring matches and thrilling finishes. The opening day saw impressive batting displays, including a maiden T20 century and several breathtaking sixes.

The first match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium saw Dhaka Division snatch a dramatic six-wicket victory over Sylhet Division. Sylhet’s Jishan Alam blazed a trail with a 52-ball century, including five consecutive sixes in a single over, ultimately contributing to a challenging 205-4. However, Dhaka’s Ariful Islam responded with a stunning 46-ball 94, setting the stage for Shuvagata Hom’s last-ball six to secure the win for his team.

Chattogram Division, featuring the return of Tamim Iqbal after a seven-month absence, suffered a five-wicket defeat to Rangpur Division. Iqbal managed only 13 runs, while Rangpur’s Mukidul Islam Mugdho impressed with a 3-17 bowling performance.

The Sylhet Outer Stadium also hosted two high-scoring matches. Dhaka Metro defeated Barishal Division by 31 runs, thanks to fifties from Mohammad Naim and Imranuzzaman, while Rajshahi Division overcame Khulna Division by 11 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method after bad light curtailed play. Rajshahi’s Habibur Rahman Sohan contributed a 38-ball 66 in the chase.

The tournament continues with the second round of matches scheduled for Thursday.
