Tue Dec 17 11:50:59 UTC 2024: ## McGregor Delays UFC Return, Set for Boxing Exhibition with Logan Paul in India

**Mumbai, India –** Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor has announced a significant shift in his fighting plans. Instead of his anticipated return to the Octagon, McGregor will face YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition match in India. The fight, reportedly under preliminary agreement with the Ambani family, will precede McGregor’s planned return to the UFC.

McGregor, sidelined since breaking his leg in July 2021, had been scheduled to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June but withdrew due to a foot injury. He has explicitly denied rumors of a fight with Ilia Topuria.

This boxing exhibition marks McGregor’s second foray into professional boxing, following his 2017 loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. Paul, known for his boxing exhibitions and recent success in WWE where he won the U.S. Championship, has a mixed record in exhibition bouts.

The announcement comes amidst ongoing legal proceedings. Last month, a Dublin court found McGregor liable in a civil case alleging sexual assault, ordering him to pay €248,000 in compensation. McGregor, who maintains his innocence and plans to appeal, faces no criminal charges related to the case. However, several companies have already distanced themselves from the fighter. The exact date of the McGregor-Paul exhibition in India is yet to be announced.
