Tue Dec 17 13:50:53 UTC 2024: ## BRS MLAs Accuse Congress MLA of Defamation in Telangana Assembly

**Hyderabad, December 17, 2024** – The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has filed a complaint with the Telangana Assembly Speaker against Congress MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy for allegedly violating assembly rules during Question Hour on Monday. The complaint alleges that Reddy made unsubstantiated claims that every BRS MLA had amassed ₹1,000 crore, violating rules 319 (ii & iii), 320, and 45.

The BRS contends that Reddy’s remarks were defamatory and violated rules prohibiting personal attacks and incriminatory allegations without prior notification to the Speaker. They also point out that Reddy, who spoke for three minutes on Question 445, was not even a signatory to the question, a deviation from standard assembly procedure.

The BRS Legislature Party (BRSLP) has requested the Speaker to expunge Reddy’s comments from the official record. The Speaker has reportedly assured the BRS MLAs that the matter will be investigated. The incident highlights rising tensions between the ruling BRS and the Congress party in the Telangana Assembly.
