Mon Dec 16 18:28:54 UTC 2024: ## Bihar’s First Transgender Sub-Inspector Faces Her Own Name on BPSC Exam
**Patna, Bihar:** In a surprising twist during the 70th BPSC Combined Preliminary Examination on Friday, Manu Madhavi Kashyap, Bihar’s first transgender sub-inspector, encountered a question featuring her own name. The question, posed at an exam center in Katihar, asked: “Manu Madhavi Kashyap recently became Bihar’s first transgender…?”
Kashyap, who was taking the exam herself, found the question amusing. Speaking to Local18 after the exam, she expressed her delight, stating that if her name helped someone score a passing grade, it would be a great achievement. She credits her success to her mentors, Reshma Madam and Guru Rahman.
Guru Rahman, a prominent Patna teacher who mentored Kashyap, expressed immense pride in her accomplishment. He revealed receiving over 400 congratulatory messages after the exam and confidently predicted Kashyap’s future as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) by 2025. Kashyap echoed his sentiment, attributing her success to her guru and expressing her dedication to fulfilling his vision.
The multiple-choice question offered four options: state transport bus driver, Havildar in the Bihar Regiment, Sub-Inspector of Police, and Traffic Police Inspector. Many candidates reported recognizing Kashyap’s name from recent news coverage, leading them to correctly choose “Sub-Inspector of Police.” Kashyap is currently undergoing training in Rajgir.
