**Bengaluru, India** – The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 auction concluded today in Bengaluru, with the Gujarat Giants emerging as the biggest spenders. A total of 19 players were sold for ₹9.05 crore (approximately $1.1 million USD), including five overseas players. Notably, no capped Indian players were purchased in this round.
West Indies’ Deandra Dottin was the first player sold, going to the Gujarat Giants for ₹1.7 crore. Simran Sheikh of India was also acquired by the Giants for a hefty ₹1.9 crore, making her the most expensive player of the auction. Mumbai Indians secured 16-year-old Kamalini for ₹1.6 crore.

The remaining teams will now nominate two players each for an accelerated auction in a subsequent round. The auction was broadcast live on Sports 18. The total spending by each franchise was as follows: Delhi Capitals (₹2.5 crore), Gujarat Giants (₹4.4 crore), Mumbai Indians (₹2.65 crore), UP Warriorz (₹3.9 crore), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (₹3.25 crore).
