Mon Dec 16 16:38:25 UTC 2024: ## Williamson Makes History with Fifth Consecutive Century at Seddon Park

**Hamilton, New Zealand** – Kane Williamson, former New Zealand captain and star batsman, has etched his name in cricketing history. On Monday, he became the first player in the 147-year history of Test cricket to score five consecutive centuries at the same ground – Seddon Park in Hamilton.

Williamson achieved this feat during the second innings of the third Test match against England, scoring his 33rd Test century in a masterful 137-ball innings that included a six. This latest century continues his remarkable run of success at his home ground, a vital contribution as New Zealand, after losing the first two matches of the series, fight to avoid a whitewash.

His previous centuries at Seddon Park include scores of 200 (vs. Bangladesh, 2019), 104 (vs. England, 2019), 251 (vs. West Indies, 2020), 43, and 133* (vs. South Africa, 2024). He also scored 44 runs in the first innings of this current match.

This achievement further solidifies Williamson’s status as a cricketing legend. He is nearing a remarkable average of over 100 runs in matches at Hamilton (15 or more innings), having already amassed seven Test centuries at the venue. He is also the first New Zealander to score 20 Test centuries at home, surpassing the achievements of other notable players such as John Wright (10 centuries at home) and Ross Taylor (12 centuries at home). Williamson and Taylor are tied for the most career centuries (24) across all formats of the game. New Zealand’s first innings total of 347 was followed by England’s paltry 143 all out.
