**Kochi, Kerala:** The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has launched an investigation into the alleged absconding of 1425 Malayalis who reportedly took loans totaling around ₹700 crore from a bank in Kuwait and subsequently left the country without repayment.
The bank authorities have informed the Kerala Police about the incident, prompting the Ministry to request detailed information on the individuals involved. The Gulf Bank of Kuwait has acknowledged the request and stated that they will respond after internal discussions.
The central government has already obtained details of ten registered cases from the Kerala Police. Bank officials are expected to arrive in Kerala next week to file further complaints. The investigation focuses on identifying and locating the individuals who defaulted on their loans.
