**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, December 15, 2024** – Mangalapuram police, with the assistance of the District Anti Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF), arrested three men on Saturday for alleged possession of 59 grams of MDMA. The suspects, identified as Praveen (36), Shibu (26), and Gireesh (27), were apprehended while allegedly attempting to smuggle the drugs from Bengaluru. Police suspect Praveen was operating a narcotics ring supplying MDMA in Mangalapuram, Chirayinkeezhu, and Attingal. This arrest follows a similar incident a week prior, where 127 grams of MDMA were seized, and three individuals were arrested in Chirayinkeezhu. Thiruvananthapuram Rural District Police Chief Kiran Narayanan stated that intensified efforts are underway to curb drug trafficking during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays.
