Sat Dec 14 18:38:00 UTC 2024: ## Shah Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Receiving Foreign Inspiration for Adani Allegations

**NEW DELHI** – Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of receiving foreign inspiration for his criticisms of the Adani Group. Shah’s remarks, made at the Agenda Aaj Tak event on Saturday, followed Congress’s attempts to leverage the recent US indictment of Adani Energy in Parliament.

Shah suggested Gandhi’s repeated allegations, coinciding with parliamentary sessions, originate from outside India. He questioned why Gandhi relies on foreign sources instead of domestic institutions like the Comptroller and Auditor General, Vigilance Commissioner, and the Supreme Court. The minister’s comments directly linked Gandhi’s actions to the Adani indictment, despite the Adani Group’s insistence that its executives are clear of bribery charges.

The BJP has intensified its counter-offensive, accusing Gandhi of being part of a “dangerous triangle” aiming to destabilize India, alongside unnamed American agencies and billionaire George Soros. This follows a report by French outlet Mediapart alleging links between the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and US government funding, a claim the BJP uses to suggest a coordinated attack on India, amplified by the Congress. The Congress vehemently denies these allegations.

While the Congress has aggressively pursued the Adani indictment in Parliament, creating a legislative logjam, allies like the Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party have called for the House to function, citing other pressing issues. Gandhi’s previous actions, including a mock “interview” within the Parliament complex portraying Prime Minister Modi and Gautam Adani, further fueled the BJP’s criticism. The ongoing clash highlights a significant political battle between the BJP and Congress, with accusations of foreign interference at the center of the dispute.
