**Geneva, Switzerland –** Two topless members of the Ukrainian feminist group Femen vandalized a prominent sculpture outside the United Nations in Geneva on Friday. The activists, wearing Ukrainian flags as garters, used chainsaws to inflict over a dozen gashes on the “Broken Chair,” a three-legged monument designed to raise awareness about landmines. While sawing, they shouted slogans including “Keep Russia out of the UN” and “Fuck Russia.”
Geneva police confirmed that four individuals were taken in for questioning following the incident. The Femen movement, known for its topless protests against various social issues, has been active since 2008. The “Broken Chair,” a landmark sculpture created by Swiss artist Daniel Berset in 1997, sustained significant damage in the protest.
