Thu Dec 12 22:05:20 UTC 2024: ## West Indies Complete 3-0 ODI Series Sweep Against Bangladesh
**Basseterre, St. Kitts** – The West Indies completed a dominant 3-0 series victory over Bangladesh in the third and final ODI at Warner Park on Thursday. Amir Jangoo’s stunning century (102 runs off 81 balls) earned him the Player of the Match award, while Sherfane Rutherford took home the Player of the Series.
Bangladesh, posting their first 300+ total since the 2023 ODI World Cup (321 runs), initially put up a strong fight. Key partnerships, including a 100+ run stand between Soumya Sarkar and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and an unbeaten 150-run partnership between Mahmudullah and Jaker Ali for the sixth wicket, propelled their score. Alzarri Joseph was the West Indies’ most effective bowler, taking two wickets.
The West Indies chase started shakily, losing three quick wickets and finding themselves at 86/4 in the 15th over. However, a crucial 132-run partnership between Keacy Carty (95 runs) and Jangoo completely changed the momentum. Jangoo’s composed innings, alongside a finishing contribution from Gudakesh Motie (31 runs), guided the West Indies to victory. While Bangladesh’s bowling initially looked promising, they lost control in the middle overs, allowing the West Indies to recover.
West Indies captain Shai Hope expressed his delight at the 3-0 win, highlighting the strong performance of the team’s newer players. Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan acknowledged the tough day for his bowlers, noting the absence of senior players and the need to take more responsibility.
The two teams will now shift their focus to a T20I series, starting on December 16th.
