**MUMBAI, INDIA** – Shreyas Talpade, the Bollywood actor who voiced Allu Arjun’s iconic character Pushpa Raj in the Hindi dubbed version of “Pushpa: The Rule,” has spoken about the experience, revealing both his initial anxieties and ultimate satisfaction with the overwhelmingly positive audience response. In an exclusive interview with India Today Digital, Talpade admitted to feeling nervous given the high expectations surrounding the sequel. He credited director Sukumar and Allu Arjun’s powerful performance for making his job easier, stating, “What you see on screen is engaging enough, and that kind of inspired me to give my best shot too.”
Talpade, who was initially approached for the role due to his previous work dubbing for Simon in “The Lion King,” revealed that he was floored by the film’s approach and Allu Arjun’s confident portrayal of Pushpa Raj. He praised the freedom given to him to interpret the character. While acknowledging the film’s controversial aspects – criticism for glorifying toxic masculinity – Talpade maintained a professional distance, explaining that he focuses on embodying the director’s vision.
The actor shared a poignant moment from the dubbing process, recounting his emotional connection to a climactic scene where Pushpa breaks down. He emphasized the challenge of conveying emotions authentically when dubbing for another actor.
Talpade’s next dubbing project, “Mufasa: The Lion King,” is slated for release soon. He also revealed upcoming projects, including “Housefull 5,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Baaghi 4,” and “Emergency” alongside Kangana Ranaut. He expressed excitement about the upcoming releases of both “Pushpa 2” and “Mufasa,” highlighting the unique opportunity to voice two such distinct and beloved characters in the same month.
