Fri Dec 13 05:00:58 UTC 2024: **Bangalore Artist Creates Interactive Sound and Light Installation, SoundGarden**

BENGALURU, INDIA – December 13, 2024 – Shakthisree Gopalan, a Bangalore-based artist, has unveiled her innovative multisensory installation, SoundGarden, a captivating audio-visual experience that transforms sound into a tangible, interactive element. The project, born from a shower-thought, invites participants to explore and co-create sonic landscapes using glowing orbs that emit unique sounds and lights upon touch.

Gopalan collaborated with creative technologist Leonard Pauli and ECE students to overcome technical challenges in developing the interactive system, utilizing sensors and rapid prototyping to achieve the desired effect. The installation encourages playful exploration, breaking down the barriers that often prevent adults from engaging in spontaneous creative interaction.

SoundGarden debuted at the Under 25 Summit in Bengaluru last year and is now being showcased at Sabha BLR in Shivaji Nagar as part of the BLR Hubba festival. The experience allows participants to collaboratively create unique sonic compositions within a 15-minute session, leaving behind “sonic footprints” that are even recorded for posterity.

Gopalan describes SoundGarden as a way to connect people and foster a sense of collective consciousness, echoing the creative impulse of early humans expressing themselves through cave paintings. The free installation will be open to the public on December 13th, from 7 pm to 8 pm, with bookings and further information available at blrhubba.in.
