Fri Dec 13 10:20:00 UTC 2024: ## West Michigan Faces Another Snow Blast, Schools Closed
**GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –** West Michigan is bracing for another significant winter storm, with a Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Grand Rapids for numerous counties. The warning is in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Following last week’s disruptive winter weather, frigid temperatures and lake-effect snow showers are expected, particularly near and west of US-131. Moderate to heavy snowfall is predicted, leading to localized travel difficulties. The heaviest snow is anticipated to fall along the lakeshore counties, persisting into Thursday morning before gradually easing by Thursday afternoon. The NWS anticipates the lake-effect snow will end Thursday night.
Numerous schools across the region have already announced closures for Thursday. A complete list of school closings can be found at wzzm13.com/closings. Residents are urged to monitor weather forecasts and take necessary precautions.
