Fri Dec 13 09:22:13 UTC 2024: ## Hyderabad Theatre Stampede: Three Arrested After Woman Dies During ‘Pushpa 2’ Premiere
**Hyderabad, December 9:** Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the death of a 35-year-old woman during a stampede at the Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad on December 4th, during the premiere of “Pushpa 2: The Rule.” The arrested individuals include the theater owner, the theater manager, and the manager of the lower and upper balconies.
Police have charged the three with negligence in implementing proper safety measures. The woman’s 13-year-old son was also injured in the incident. All three have been remanded to judicial custody.
The stampede occurred due to an overwhelming crowd gathered to see superstar Allu Arjun. The resulting chaos and uncontrolled surge of people led to the tragic incident. According to Chikkadpally ACP L Ramesh Kumar, the injured child is recovering.
A complaint was filed by the deceased woman’s family at the Chikkadpally police station, leading to the filing of a case under sections 3(5), 105, and 118(1) of the Indian Penal Code. Central Zone DCP Akshansa Yadav stated that the theater management, actor Allu Arjun, and his security team have been named in the complaint. However, an investigation is underway to determine the exact roles of those involved and whether police security measures were adequate. The investigation is ongoing.
