**New Delhi:** The Indian government informed the Lok Sabha on Friday that only 19 Indian nationals remain in the Russian armed forces, down from a significantly larger number previously. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh revealed this in a written response to a parliamentary question regarding the repatriation of Indian citizens serving in the Russian army.
Singh stated that concerted governmental efforts have led to the discharge of most Indian nationals from the Russian armed forces, with many already repatriated to India. The government continues to engage with Russian authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the remaining 19 individuals and to expedite their discharge and return to India. The government has specifically requested an update on their location and is working to secure their release.
