**Hyderabad, India** – Telugu film superstar Allu Arjun was taken into 14-day judicial custody on an unrelated charge stemming from a fatal stampede at the premiere of his film “Pushpa 2: The Rise.” The arrest, made amidst tight security at his home, followed a complaint filed by the family of Revathi, a 35-year-old woman who died in the December 4th incident at Hyderabad’s Sandhya theatre. Her eight-year-old son was also injured in the stampede.
The case, filed under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) criminal law, also named the theatre management as defendants. However, a surprising turn of events unfolded today when Revathi’s husband, Bhaskar, announced his intention to withdraw the charges against Arjun. He stated that he was unaware of the arrest and that Arjun bore no responsibility for his wife’s death. Allu Arjun’s public relations team confirmed the family’s decision.
Prior to the case’s dismissal, Arjun had already petitioned the Telangana High Court to quash the First Information Report (FIR) filed against him on December 11th.
