**Hyderabad, India** – Popular Telugu actor Allu Arjun was arrested Friday in connection with a stampede that occurred outside Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad during the pre-release event of his film *Pushpa 2*. One woman died in the incident.

Police charged Arjun under sections 105 and 118(1) read with 3/5 BNS, which carry a potential sentence of five to ten years imprisonment. Arjun was taken into custody at his residence and subsequently transferred to Chikkadpally Police Station. Three other individuals have already been arrested in the case.

Reports indicate that Arjun’s arrest was met with emotional scenes, with his wife, Sneha Reddy, reportedly distressed and in tears. Arjun himself reportedly protested the manner of his arrest, requesting more time to prepare before leaving his home.

Arjun has filed a petition in the High Court seeking to quash the case against him. He maintains his arrival at the theater did not directly cause the stampede and that the accusations are unfounded. He argues that blaming him solely for the incident is a misuse of the legal process and that the filed FIR is inaccurate. He further states that the incident was regrettable and that he had informed both theater management and the ACP of his arrival. He denies any negligence on his part. The court hearing is pending.
