HYDERABAD, INDIA – Telugu film actor Allu Arjun has filed an urgent petition in the High Court of Telangana seeking to quash a case filed against him by the Chikkadapalli police. The actor was briefly detained on Friday in connection with an incident at the Sandhya Theatre.
Allu Arjun’s lawyer, Niranjan Reddy, filed the petition on Wednesday, but it was not listed for hearing until Monday. The lawyer argued for an emergency hearing, citing the actor’s recent detention. While the court initially questioned the delay in mentioning the petition, it eventually scheduled a hearing for Monday. Reddy also requested a stay on any further police action until then. The government’s lawyer requested time to gather information from the police before responding to the court.
The court’s decision is pending until Monday’s hearing.
