**Bengaluru, India** – The suicide of 34-year-old Atul Subhash, an AI engineer in Bengaluru, has sparked national outrage. Subhash, who held a senior position at a major company, left behind a 24-page suicide note and a 90-minute video detailing his alleged harassment at the hands of his wife, Nikita Singhania, and her family.

The note alleges a long-standing dispute with his wife, beginning two years after their 2019 marriage, escalating to police complaints and court cases. Nikita reportedly filed dowry harassment charges and demanded ₹3 crore (approximately $360,000 USD). Subhash was paying her ₹40,000 (approximately $480 USD) in monthly alimony.

A particularly intriguing element of the case is Subhash’s mention of a gift for his four-and-a-half-year-old son. He requested that the gift not be opened until the boy turns 18 in 2038, leaving the contents a mystery. He also designated his parents as guardians for his child.

Subhash’s video message included an apology to his parents for dying at a time when he should have been supporting them. He appealed to the judiciary to dismiss any pending cases against his family. The case has ignited a furious debate on social media, particularly on LinkedIn, where details of Subhash and his wife’s employment are being discussed. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and the allegations made in his note and video.
