**Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala –** A new vision document for technical education in Kerala was released Tuesday, aiming to foster transdisciplinarity and prepare students for the demands of Industry X.0. The document, a product of the four-day Udyama 1.0 conclave, was unveiled by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Key proposals in the document include integrating diverse disciplines like engineering, architecture, design, and humanities; ensuring student readiness for advanced digital technologies; and establishing incubation centers to promote research and startups. The plan also emphasizes international partnerships, faculty exchange programs, student mobility, and industrial collaborations.
Further recommendations include regular curriculum updates, faculty training, semester-long internships, and the creation of on-campus mini-industrial estates. Chief Minister Vijayan stressed the importance of blending scientific expertise with industrial knowledge to improve academic quality. The event was attended by several officials, including Higher Education Minister R. Bindu and key figures from the state’s education and industry sectors.
