Tue Dec 10 15:12:47 UTC 2024: ## Andhra Pradesh Govt. Cracks Down on Land Scams

**Vijayawada, December 10, 2024** – The Andhra Pradesh government is launching a major crackdown on land scams following a surge in complaints since the formation of the NDA coalition government. Revenue, Registration, and Stamps Minister Anagani Satya Prasad announced on Tuesday that stringent action will be taken against those involved in defrauding citizens of their property.

Over 10,000 complaints related to land scams have been received, prompting the government to introduce the Land Encroachment (Prevention) Bill 2024. To address the issue effectively, revenue meetings are being held across the state since December 6th. These meetings, taking place in all 17,404 villages, are designed to facilitate the registration of complaints and ensure swift resolutions.

A Deputy Collector will serve as the nodal officer for each mandal, overseeing a team including Tahsildars, Revenue Inspectors, and other relevant officials. Complaints will be registered online at the meeting venues, with immediate receipt issuance. The government aims to resolve complaints within a set timeframe, referring cases related to government services to appropriate channels like Mee Seva centres or village secretariats. The initiative signifies a strong commitment from the Andhra Pradesh government to protect citizens’ land rights and combat widespread land fraud.
