**Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh:** Kadapa police have arrested a 26-year-old man, Kuppalapalli Kullayappa, for the brutal stabbing of an 18-year-old girl on Saturday. The accused, who allegedly harbored a grudge after the victim rejected his advances, broke into her home while her parents were away and stabbed her 13 times.

According to Kadapa in-charge SP V. Vidyasagar Naidu, Kullayappa, a resident of Kothapalli village, had been persistently pursuing the victim. His rejection led him to attack her. Police apprehended him within 24 hours while he was attempting to flee to Hyderabad.

The victim, initially treated at Pulivendula Government Hospital and then E.C. Gangi Reddy Hospital, is currently in critical condition at Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati. The swift action by Pulivendula DSP, R.K. Valley CI, and Vemula Police Station SI resulted in the arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
