**Belagavi:** A massive 20ft x 10ft oil painting depicting the Anubhava Mantapa, considered the world’s first parliament founded by social reformer Basavanna, was unveiled today at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presided over the ceremony, attended by several dignitaries including Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader.

The monumental artwork, now displayed in the Central Hall, is the collaborative effort of several renowned artists from across Karnataka. The painting aims to immortalize the Anubhava Mantapa, a historic center of learning and social reform that championed equality and inclusivity, attracting individuals from all castes and religions. Figures like Akkamahadevi and Madara Chennaiah contributed significantly to its intellectual and spiritual environment.
