**Bengaluru, India (December 9, 2024)** – Pixxel, an Indian space technology company, announced today that it has raised an additional $24 million in funding, bringing its total Series B round to $60 million. This latest investment brings Pixxel’s total funding to $95 million across all rounds.
The funding round included participation from new investors M&G Catalyst and Glade Brook Capital Partners, alongside existing investors such as Google, Radical Ventures, and Lightspeed. This makes Pixxel one of the highest-funded space-tech startups in India and the world’s highest-funded hyperspectral imaging company.
Pixxel is developing a constellation of high-resolution hyperspectral satellites capable of capturing data across 250+ spectral bands at a 5-meter resolution. This technology allows for detailed analysis of the Earth’s surface, providing insights invisible to conventional imaging methods.
The company plans to use the new funding to accelerate the launch of its planned 18-satellite constellation, enhance its AI-driven Earth Observation platform “Aurora,” and expand its satellite manufacturing capabilities. This expansion will include offering satellite manufacturing services to other organizations and governments.
Founder and CEO Awais Ahmed stated that the investment reflects investor confidence in Pixxel’s technology and will enable the company to significantly contribute to understanding and addressing global challenges through advanced Earth observation.
