Sun Dec 08 16:46:27 UTC 2024: ## Delhi-NCR Sees Surprise Showers, More Rain Predicted
**NEW DELHI –** Parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) experienced unexpected rainfall Sunday evening, bringing a welcome respite from the dry winter weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast further light rain in isolated areas, including Rajouri Garden, Patel Nagar, Buddha Jayanti Park, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Najafgarh, and Delhi Cantonment, throughout the night and into Monday.
Areas in West Delhi, Outer North Delhi, and Gurugram were among those hit by the showers. The IMD attributes the rainfall to a Western Disturbance and an induced cyclonic circulation over north Rajasthan. One or two spells of very light to light rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected over the next 12 hours.
Delhi also recorded its second-lowest daytime temperature of the winter season on Sunday, reaching a maximum of 23.7 degrees Celsius – a notch below normal and just slightly higher than the season’s lowest of 23.5 degrees Celsius recorded on November 18. The IMD predicts a high of 27 degrees Celsius and a low of 8 degrees Celsius for Monday. The department also warns of moderate to dense fog in the morning. Humidity levels fluctuated significantly throughout Sunday.
