Sun Dec 08 23:10:18 UTC 2024: ## West Indies Cricketer Suspended, Final Prize Money Forfeited After Toss Incident

**ST JOHN’S, Antigua** – Jamaica Scorpions captain John Campbell has been handed a four-match ban by Cricket West Indies (CWI) for misconduct during the CG United Super50 Final. Campbell refused to attend the toss as instructed by the umpires, a Level 3 offense under the CWI Code of Conduct. While Campbell apologized for the disruption, the suspension was confirmed by CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe, who emphasized the importance of upholding sportsmanship.

The incident resulted in the forfeiture of prize money for both the Jamaica Scorpions and Barbados Pride. The winning team would have received US$100,000, and the runner-up US$50,000. Bascombe stated that the decision reinforces the importance of captains adhering to the rules and acting as role models. A similar charge is pending against Barbados Pride captain Raymon Reifer. The CWI is investigating the matter further.
