**Belagavi, December 8, 2024** – A new open-air science park has opened in Belagavi, Karnataka, just in time for the Winter Session. Built at a cost of ₹40 lakh, the park, located west of the Suvarna Soudha, features 22 interactive models designed to engage children with science concepts.

The park, constructed by MGNREGA workers from nearby villages, showcases principles of mathematics, physics, biology, and geography through hands-on exhibits. These include demonstrations of Newton and Archimedes’ principles, time-measuring tools, weather instruments, and experiments on light, motion, and energy. Models of a periscope, simple camera, and even a square-wheel cycle are also on display.

Belagavi Zilla Panchayat CEO Rahul Shinde stated that the park was created in response to instructions to provide a facility for children attending the Winter Session. He praised the MGNREGA workers for their dedication in meeting the tight deadline. The designs for the park were provided by Bengaluru-based education agency Gyan Pro. The park aims to promote activity-based learning and spark children’s curiosity about science.
